Membership Categories

Churches are the principal organizations of which the Convention is composed. Baptist churches properly constituted in keeping with Baptist policy may apply for membership through their Regional Association.
Requirements
- Be a properly constituted Baptist church
- Submit application through your Regional Association
- Be evaluated and approved by the Convention
- Agree to abide by the LBMEC Constitution
- Pay the specified membership fee

Life Members are nominated by their local church and have voting rights at Convention sessions.

All Baptists who are members of LBMEC churches are General Members. This is the starting point for Convention involvement.
Special recognition for distinguished individuals recommended by the Executive Committee.
Members who have been Life Members for 20+ years and are in good standing, but limited by age or infirmity, are exempted from annual fees while retaining their voting privileges in recognition of their years of faithful service.
How to Apply
For Churches:
- Contact your County Coordinator or Regional Vice President
- Submit an application to your Regional Association
- The Credentials Committee will review your application
- Board of Managers provides approval
- Recognition at Annual Session
- Certificate presented upon payment of membership fee
For Individuals:
- Ensure your church is an LBMEC member church
- Request nomination from your local church
- Church includes you in their letter to the Convention
- Pay membership fee at Convention session
- Receive membership credentials
Fees Information
Membership fees are determined annually by the Executive Committee and communicated to churches at least three months before Convention sessions.
